UnJAM 2035

UnJAM 2035 meets very specific Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) requirements. An MPO is a federally-mandated planning jurisdiction, specifically created to facilitate transportation planning. MPOs are designated when the population of an urbanized area, such as Charlottesville and the urban portions of Albemarle County, is greater than 50,000. FHWA and the current Transportation Equity Act, SAFETEA-LU, require that MPOs draft fiscally-constrained long range plans in order to receive federal funding for transportation projects. UnJAM 2035 was officially approved by the MPO Policy Board in May 2009.

Below is the completed UnJAM 2035 long range transportation plan. To allow for posting on the web, low resolution pdf versions of the plan have been created for downloading. Higher resolution or hard copy versions are available by contacting the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission.
